Service Description

Mount Kilimanjaro National Park Mount Kilimanjaro National Park, opened in 1977, is one of Tanzania’s most visited parks and is famous for Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain at 5,896 m. Located on the equator, it is the highest freestanding mountain and volcanic peak in the world. The park is known for trekking rather than wildlife, offering routes that pass through rainforest, moorland, alpine desert, and glacial zones, all leading to Uhuru Peak (3.0674° S, 37.3556° E). Machame Route (7 Days – Camping) The Machame Route, often called the “Whiskey Route,” is one of the most popular ways to climb Kilimanjaro due to its scenic diversity, excellent acclimatization profile, and high summit success rate. The route follows the principle of “walk high, sleep low,” including a key acclimatization point at Lava Tower and the famous Barranco Wall. Trekkers move from lush rainforest through moorland and alpine desert before reaching the glacier-capped summit. Accommodation is tent-based throughout, supported by a full mountain crew. Machame Route Summary Accommodation: Tents Total Distance: ~62 km Daily Range: 4–11 km Altitude Range: 1,800 m – 5,895 m Highlights: Excellent acclimatization, scenic landscapes, high summit success Marangu Route (5 Days – Hut Route) The Marangu Route, also known as the “Coca-Cola Route,” is the oldest and most established route on Mount Kilimanjaro. It is the only route that offers permanent hut accommodation, making it popular for climbers who prefer not to camp. The route ascends and descends on the same path and passes through rainforest, moorland, and alpine desert zones. While it is considered physically easier in terms of trail conditions, it has a lower acclimatization profile, which can affect summit success rates. Marangu Route Summary (Estimated Calculations): Accommodation: Mountain huts Total Distance: ~64 km (round trip) Daily Range: 6–15 km Altitude Range: 1,870 m – 5,895 m Highlights: Hut accommodation, gradual trails, classic route
